Midsummer Parade
Cork Community Art Link
Haircuts by Children was a pop up salon experience at Merchant’s Quay Shopping Centre created by Mammalian Diving Reflex. The group worked with Cork school children from St Vincent’s Primary School and hairstylists from Cork salon, Victor Franks Hair Design to develop their hairdressing skills. During the final weekend of the Cork Midsummer Festival in 2012, they opened for business to offer free haircuts for the public at a custom made salon in Cork city centre.
Haircuts by Children playfully engaged with the empowerment of children, with trust in the younger generation, and with the thrills and chills of vanity.
