The iconic Theatre for One booth returns to Emmet Place as part of Cork Midsummer Festival, with a very special instalment for 2025.

Part confessional, part peep-show booth - these 5 minute plays are performed by one actor for one audience member at a time.

Step inside for an experience that is completely visceral and uniquely intimate.

Free of charge – no tickets required – just join the queue.

This year focuses on the voices and stories of Cork. Theatre for One: Made in Cork features new short plays by six hugely exciting writers - Cónal Creedan, Katie Holly, John McCarthy, Michael John McCarthy, Gina Moxley and Louise O’Neill.

Conceived and created by the Olivier and Tony Award- winning theatre-maker Christine Jones, and constructed by LOT-EK architects, each original 5-minute play is written specifically for this format. This is a specially-designed, state-of-the-art theatre for two: one actor and one audience member.

Writers Cónal Creedan, Katie Holly, John McCarthy, Michael John McCarthy, Gina Moxley, Louise O’Neill
Directors Julie Kelleher & Eoghan Carrick
