A performance of Philip Glass' iconic Glassworks by Crash Ensemble at Triskel Arts Centre.

Written as a studio recording, Glassworks was released in 1982 as an LP and cassette on the CBS label, whose roster of artists includes Frank Sinatra and Bruce Springsteen.

Written in 1981, Glassworks was Glass’ wildly innovative attempt to merge minimalism and pop, creating ‘classical’ pieces with infectious pop hooks. It soon became one of the composer’s most popular works.

Crash Ensemble are one of Ireland’s leading new music ensembles - a group of world-class musicians who play the most adventurous, ground-breaking music of today.
