A young man on the edge. A past that won't let go.

Noreen Gilhooly is the daughter of a celebrated poet wrestling with her own literary ambitions.
Trying to make ends meet in a 100 year old bookshop - The Quirky Scroll, Noreen spends her days dodging back-to-school chaos while deciphering increasingly bizarre book requests. “Did you mean Mein Kampf? No, Minecraft”.
Despite her aspirations, is Noreen destined to be little more than just a footnote in her mother’s legacy?
This laugh-out-loud, one-woman comedy is a love letter to bookshops, book lovers, and anyone who’s ever had to smile through a ridiculous customer request.
Sharp, witty, and full of heart, it’s a riotous exploration of ambition, identity, and the fine art of alphabetising the children’s section.
Written and performed by Irene Kelleher, Footnote is directed by comedian Laura O’Mahony (RedRaw, The Today Show, Body Brothers). With a decade of real-life bookshop experience between them, they bring their hilarious insider knowledge to the stage - because truth, as always, is stranger than fiction.
