A vibrant celebration of community collaboration through seed stories, forgotten foods, and garden mapping within a haven of nature in the city.

This creative collaboration builds on the sustainability and inter-cultural ethos of Togher Community Garden, a dynamic community of 75 growers, from 15+ countries. Join us in celebrating the promise of seed, it’s magic to grow from tiny beginnings with everything it needs to create a whole plant; discovering nutritious benefits of forgotten foods such as the nettle and dandelion; a plant naming walk; as well as mapping the garden flora by printing plant leaves to find them throughout the community garden.

Aoife has a specific interest in community, horticulture, and through her Print-Van-Go pop-up studio creates space for community dialogue. Over the past 3 years she has developed The People’s Garden – Clonoulty, with a rural Tipperary community. Amal’s creative practice centres on human connection and identity, exploring empathy and cultural fusion. She facilitates creative wellbeing programmes with communities throughout Cork.

Presented as part of Creative Parks, an annual partnership between Cork City Council’s Culture and Creativity Team and Cork Midsummer Festival, collaborating with artists and communities to develop an all-ages creative day within a city park. Supported by Cork City Council through the Creative Ireland Programme, an all-of-government initiative which places creativity at the centre of public policy. Further info on creativeireland.ie
