Join a Workshop with Michael Keegan-Dolan

Cork Midsummer Festival is excited to announce that Michael Keegan-Dolan (Teaċ Daṁsa: Loch na hEala / Swan Lake, MÁM, How to be a Dancer in 72,000 Easy Lessons, NOBODADDY) will lead a workshop during the company's production of 1975 / Naoi Déag Seachtó Cúig at Cork Opera House during Cork Midsummer Festival 2026.

Open to all and everyone, with any level of experience or none, the workshop will take place from 10am – 12pm on the Cork Opera House stage on Saturday 20 June. Places are limited to 20 participants so early booking is advised - click here to book your space.

“Supporting a culture that allows for freedom, joy and imagination to flourish is primary to any collective act of creativity.

In this workshop, Michael Keegan-Dolan will share ways of working, cultivated with dancers, actors and musicians over twenty-five years, focusing on how presence, awareness, rhythm, tone and the skilful use of space are fundamental in the development of a lively and creative group dynamic.

We will work together with attention on different elemental and energetic forces, exploring the application of the senses to the art of play.

It is possible to remain true to one’s own creativity while fully participating in collective work.”
