A site-responsive temporary installation created by Cork-based visual artist Ciara Rodgers.

In this installation for Cork Midsummer Festival, Ciara explores the entanglement of body and building and our physical and psychological experience of space by introducing soft and playful sculptural interventions all across the city.

Soft City Circuits is a participatory walking project that invites us to experience familiar urban routes in new and unexpected ways. Participants will encounter gentle detours, unexpected forms and moments of pause that subtly shift how we move through the city. Accompanied by a guided walk, the project invites you to slow down, notice overlooked details and experience familiar streets as spaces of possibility rather than routine.

Ciara Rodgers is a Cork City based visual artist who works across drawing, installation, performance and photography. Recipient of Cork Midsummer Festival’s Jane Anne Rothwell Award in 2026 and a studio member of Backwater Artists Group, Ciara’s work has been exhibited widely both at home and abroad, often unfolding through site-responsive research. Her solo presentations include Folly | Façade at GOMA, Waterford (2024) and an upcoming exhibition at Pallas Projects, Dublin (2026).
