Pitch Up at Cork Midsummer Festival 2024
Cork Midsummer Festival, house theatre, and caravan are delighted to announce a collaboration to bring Pitch Up to this year’s Cork Midsummer Festival in June, supported by Culture Ireland.
Pitch Up is a popular event from the house southeast theatre network in England which features 5-minute pitches from theatre makers and venue representatives. The level platform allows for the sharing of new ideas for contemporary theatre and fosters connections between artists and venues, away from the traditional marketplace. Working with the caravan team at Farnham Maltings, house theatre will bring 6 venue representatives from across South East England to present their venues and share what they can offer in front of 6 Ireland-based artists.
Applications are now open for Ireland-based artists to pitch their new ideas for contemporary theatre. All industry delegates at Cork Midsummer Festival will be invited to attend, ensuring a valuable event that maximises opportunities to network and connect with national and international partners. The event will take place on Saturday 22 June following an international delegates’ lunch.
Applications are open until 7 April 2024. A selection panel from house theatre, caravan and Cork Midsummer Festival will look for a range of ideas, themes, genres, and scales that speak to diverse audiences, but all pitches must be for contemporary theatre that is still in its development phase. To apply for Pitch Up at Cork Midsummer Festival, submit the form at the link here by 7 April 2024 – applicants will be contacted regarding their submissions by 22 April 2024.
Pitch Up at Cork Midsummer Festival is an initiative of house southeast theatre network, caravan, and Cork Midsummer Festival, supported by Culture Ireland.
