Escaped Alone and Happy Hour announced at The Everyman for Cork Midsummer Festival 2025
Cork Midsummer Festival is delighted to announce two new productions for this year's festival lineup, both programmed as part of The Everyman's recently-announced EVERYMAN MADE season.
"We’re thrilled to have two major new events from Des Kennedy’s first programme as Artistic Director of The Everyman as part of Cork Midsummer Festival 2025. Annabelle Comyn has previously directed extraordinary shows at The Everyman during the Festival including Asking For It (2018), Evening Train (2019) and To the Lighthouse (2021). Her much anticipated production of Escaped Alone made with a brilliant cast and creative team promises to be fantastic theatre. International theatre and opera director Daniel Kramer and his late night cabaret Happy Hour promises to be one of the highlights of the festival. Carnival, cocktails, pop tunes and politics - what more could you want from a Midsummer night!" said Lorraine Maye, Director, Cork Midsummer Festival.
New work from one of Ireland's leading theatre companies, and directed by Annabelle Comyn, Escaped Alone by Caryl Churchill viciously satirises contemporary capitalist culture while it celebrates the (often unheard) voices and feelings of aging women, and the resilience it takes to survive 70 years.
In Daniel Kramer's Happy Hour, come and enjoy some cabaret, theatre, carnival and cocktails at The Everyman. There will be games. There will be prizes. There will be booze, and there will be music. It's Happy Hour! Spend an hour hearing some of today's greatest pop tunes reimagined and some classics reinvented as world-class cabaret performers take you on a wild ride.
Tickets for both productions are on sale now.
