A panel discussion about a selection of festival productions featuring the Young Critics from Youth Theatre Ireland.
One of Youth Theatre Ireland’s most popular and innovative programmes, the Young Critics brings together young people from youth theatres across the country on a journey of critical discovery: learning about how and why theatre is made, seeing incredible shows and voicing their opinions. The Young Critics will watch a selection of productions over the course of Cork Midsummer Festival before presenting their views and opinions at the Young Critics Panel, chaired by Dr. Karen Fricker.
Established in 1980, Youth Theatre Ireland is the national development organisation for youth theatre. Join us as we celebrate 20 years of the Young Critics Programme at this lively and informative event filled with good humour, passion, and eloquence. We reach hundreds of young people directly every year across high-quality national programmes including the National Festival of Youth Theatres, Young Critics and National Youth Theatre.
Supported by the Arts Council, and the Department for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth
