A new performance and outdoor exhibition by artist Isadora Epstein about weather lore and classical mythology, presented as a weather report with a surprising forecast...
Curated by Chris Clarke and commissioned by the Glucksman, music and visual art bring together forgotten and familiar stories of the sun – from Icarus’ melty wings to the shepherd’s delight of a red sky at night. Taking place at TEST SITE, an urban research initiative situated on Kyrl’s Quay in Cork City dedicated to the examination and promotion of sustainable social engagement within the built environment, the exhibition of interactive set pieces will be open for audiences to view in the garden spaces – even with all this talk of the sun, there’s always a chance of rain.
Isadora Epstein makes performances from her research of art history and mythology. Epstein has previously performed works at the Hugh Lane Gallery, the Douglas Hyde Gallery, Sirius Arts Centre, and IMMA. Her work brings together an ensemble of artists working in visual art and music. Costumes by artist Amie Egan become weather patterns and set pieces, alongside performances by musicians Méabh McKenna and Sarah Grimes.
