Tempesta

Two Dubliners caught up in the onslaught of war in 1930s Europe navigate the storm of love that surrounds them. Inspired by real events in Ireland and Spain as war looms, from the jazz clubs of Dublin to the battlefields of Catalonia, Tempesta is an homage to the majesty of the human heart in the face of great evil – and a reminder that sometimes, when faced with catastrophe, the only choice is to turn and fight.

Deirdre Kinahan is an award winning playwright, working in theatre since 1997. Plays include The Saviour, An Old Song Half Forgotten, The Unmanageable Sisters, Rathmines Road, Halcyon Days, Moment and Bogboy. Her work is produced by companies and venues such as The Abbey Theatre, Landmark Productions, Fishamble, The Old Vic (London), Irish Repertory Company (New York), Solas Nua (Washington), Staatstheatre Mainz (Germany). She is published by Nick Hern Books.
