This summer solstice, join us as fantastical floats, puppets, masked performers and all manner of musicians, dancers and revellers take to Oliver Plunkett Street for a unique performance in the celebration of the longest day of the year and the creativity of Cork communities.
Commisioned by Cork Midsummer Festival, Cork Community Art Link (creators of the annual Dragon of Shandon) lead the development of this new parade, collaborating with local community groups and organisations such as Joan Denise Moriarty School of Dance, Suisha Creative Arts and Cork Samba Band as well as over 100 local participants to create parade floats to fill the bright Midsummer night with real Cork colour.
Cork Community Art Link are the leading practitioners in paticipatory and street arts in Cork, and have been nurturing the arts in the city for 30 years.
Grab your friends and family and come on down!
