Exhilarating and inspiring street theatre company Kamchàtka return to Cork once more with their acclaimed and anarchic performance after an iconic debut in 2018.
Seven characters lost in the city, each carrying their own suitcase. Are they simply passers-by, or immigrants to this city? Naïve but curious and wearing their hearts on their sleeves, they interact with passing citizens to interrupt and disrupt what we may otherwise take for granted.
Seen in 32 countries with more than 450 performances since 2007, Kamchàtka is contemporary street theatre which bounds into new frontiers in a breathtaking waltz of compassion and humanity. The company’s performances have achieved regular critical acclaim, including for site-specific performance Alter which also features as part of Cork Midsummer Festival 2024.
Presented with the support of the Institut Ramon Llull.
Presented as part of Cork City Council’s Open Streets campaign.
A CARRER 88, S.L. production, accompanied by Melando. Special thanks to Escena Poblenou and Centre Civic Can Felipa, Barcelona. Supported on tour by INAEM–Spanish Ministry of Culture.
