A lively panel discussion on approaches, methodologies and ethics within arts participation bringing together a panel of experienced participatory artists from a range of festival projects. This panel will explore the the nuances and complexities in creating equitable space for creative exchange and co-creation. Reflecting on the Protocol for Participation, a draft document developed by artists as part of BE PART EU project, which aims to define a series of basic principles that could become the basis of a more equal (re)distribution of power within participation projects.
Cork Midsummer Festival is one of 10 international partners of BE PART, an EU project that critically explores the politics and practices of participation in the arts field. BE PART sets out to collectively foster new approaches and structures for the co-creation and mobility of art through collaborations of co-creating publics, artists, researchers and organisations.
