An update on Cork Midsummer Festival 2020
It is with huge sadness that we announce the cancellation of the 2020 edition of Cork Midsummer Festival. In light of the current Covid-19 situation, we have reluctantly accepted that it is not possible for us to continue with plans for the Festival without potential risk to the health and safety of our artists, teams and audiences.
We had a beautiful festival planned for you this year and we want to thank our artists and creative partners in the city and beyond for the huge amount of inspiring work that has been done on Festival events to date, and to all of our funders, friends, patrons and sponsors for their extraordinary support through such challenging times.
The Festival as we planned it may not be happening but we will be working with our artists over the coming weeks and months to try to bring some of their brilliant work to you in other ways.
If you have booked a ticket for a CMF event, we will be in contact with you directly over the next couple of weeks regarding show rescheduling and refunds.
We look forward to the events that our colleagues and friends in festivals and venues across the country have planned for 2020. We'll be cheering you on and are here to assist in any way that we can. Our artists and great art will be at the forefront of our recovery.
Take great care over the coming weeks, of yourselves and of each other. We can do this, but it can only be done together.
We'll be back.
With much love and solidarity,
Lorraine Maye, on behalf of The Board and Team of Cork Midsummer Festival
