The Famous Spiegeltent returns to the Cork Midsummer Festival

As the Eurovision Craze begins and we prepare for Jedward euro-mania, the Cork Midsummer Festival is joining in on the celebrations by hosting a “Eurovision Song Contest Fundraiser” on Saturday 14th May in The Bailey Bar, Washington Street, Cork. The theme for the night will be ‘European Countries’ of course. On entry you will be assigned a country and it is ‘pot-luck’ from there. Don’t worry if you aren’t on the winning team though – MC Ronan ‘Wogan’ Leonard will be awarding a variety of spot prizes throughout the evening. Douze points will be awarded for the Best Dressed Eurovision Contestant costume and of course you can watch the live screening from Dusseldorf, Germany!

Tom Creed succeeds William Galinsky as Festival Director from mid June. Hailing from Cork, Tom has a long association with the festival, having directed Playgroup’s The Art of Swimming, Once Off Productions’ The Train Show, Raymond Scannell’s Mimic and Manchán Magan’s Broken Croí/Heart Briste at the festival, amongst many others.

The Box Office Manager is responsible for the setting up and daily management of Cork Midsummer Festival’s temporary box office including remote box office sites. Candidates must have proven experience in Box Office Management and be available for immediate start. Knowledge of the Ticketsolve ticketing system will be an advantage. The Box Office Manager reports directly to the Communications Manager.
