David Holmes is a Belfast born DJ & producer. In his varied professional life, he has produced five albums and thirteen film soundtracks. His most recent album, The Holy Pictures has been widely critically acclaimed and has been recently nominated for the Irish Choice Music Prize. In recent years David’s work for film has flourished. His successful partnership with director Steven Soderbergh was developed on films Out of Sight (1998) and the Oceans Series. Holmes recently has worked to create the acclaimed soundtrack evoking the dystopian near-future world of Michael Winterbottom’s Code 46. Earlier this year he worked with Leo Abrahams to create the score for the award-winning film Hunger which won Best Score in the Irish Film and Television Awards 2009.

Andrew Weatherall has been described as “a swaggering original moody DJ”, “bastion of the underground” and “peerless explorer of the minimal techno sound”. He describes himself as “classic underachiever. I tread that fine line between boffin-dom and the grand amateur.” Weatherall’s history goes back far to the beginning of the British acid house scene having swung gigs at legendary London clubs such as Sabresonic (where the fledgling David Holmes cut his teeth). But it was through Primal Scream that Andrew first made his name as the producer of the generation-defining Screamadelica. Besides DJing all over the globe, Weatherall has been maintaining his output through various alternative projects including EP’s and remixes; brace yourself as one of the UK’s few remaining innovators stays uniquely true to his own musical vision.
Both pacesetters on the international electronic music scene, the combination of these two will ensure a night to remember.
