A Rescued Abridged and Weightless History of Cork City
In May 1622 the night sky of Cork City filled with tens of thousands of starlings, in two ‘armies’, engaged in aerial battle. The battle raged through the night, causing several thousand to plunge to the earth dead.
On the same evening a story began in the cellar of Hollander house, a story heralding centuries of grand experiment and adventure, of great loss and extraordinary discovery. For the first time in forty years, Cork’s Hollander House is open to the public so that some of these wonders can be savoured. The current occupant of the house merely asks that you drink his tea. And mind where you are in rooms. Because they tend to move.
This show has limited capacity as it takes place in rooms within the house.
