Corcadorca would like to thank The Dept of Defence and the Naval Service at
Haulbowline Island for allowing us to stage this event. We would also like to
thank our sponsors Howard Holdings and Marine Transport Services Ltd.
Having served up spectacular Shakespeare for the past two
Festivals, Corcadorca this year turns its attention to another
great classic, Woyzeck by Georg Buchner.
Woyzeck is a powerful and intense drama about a
sailor struggling to hold on to his humanity and
sanity as his life spirals out of control. Corcadorca has
typically chosen a very unique yet fitting location to
stage this show – the Naval Base on Haulbowline
Island. Starting at the water’s edge as darkness falls,
Woyzeck will be a promenade production moving
around various historic and impressive buildings on the
base.
