ILEAFRICA PRESENTS: The Irish/African Community Gospel Choir Competition

Venue: St Fin Barre’s Cathedral

Every summer Gospel choirs from Ireland’s African Communities are invited to the magnificent St Fin Barre’s Cathedral in Cork City to compete for the chance of winning a prize of 1000 Euros along with the Lord Mayor’s Trophy, a magnificent Crystal Glass vase hand-made in the ‘Old Cork Tower’ style. Each of the choirs perform for approximately 25 minutes, sing in a variety of styles & languages and are often accompanied by an array of instruments which, in the past, has included talking drum, violin, trombone, congas, piano, guitar, drum Kit and organ.

The event is sponsored by Cork City Council and produced by FeileAfrica.
