War torn Baghdad. Present day.
Two brothers, both of them long distance truck drivers, meet
at the public baths as has been their ritual for years. Both are
victims of the thirty years of Saddam Hussein’s brutal
dictatorship. And now both live under the terror and
anarchy of the post Saddam era. One brother is a
collaborator with the American forces, the other refuses to
be. But, despite their different allegiances, neither can
escape Iraq’s bloody present...
One of the most important productions to emerge from the
Middle East in recent years, Cork Midsummer Festival is
proud to introduce the work of playwright/director Jawad
Al-Asadi and the outstanding actors of the Syrian
Experimental Theatre to Ireland for the first time.
WINNER BEST ACTING AWARD, CAIRO INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL

its power to offset the dismal reality on display”
