Summer’us
During last year’s Cork Midsummer Festival photographer Michael
MacSweeney roamed the city, photographing people at work and at play,
shopping, walking or passing by. All the subjects were photographed
against the same background and light in ‘The Tent’.
From World War 2 vets to school-kids, sportsmen to supporters, taxi
drivers, sailors, actors, bouncers, musicians, grandparents, mothers,
brothers and poets; the collection of people and faces is as varied
as the people that pass you in the city every day.
200 portraits from last year’s shoot are now exhibited for the first
time. The portraits are displayed throughout the English Market for
the duration of the Festival.
‘The Tent’ is a mobile photo studio that can be set up in moments.
Look out for ‘The Tent’ continues on its second annual adventure
during this year’s festival.
