Welcome to the 9th Cork Midsummer Festival.

Hammergrin presents Trying Jokes

Summer 2005. Cork City.

Huge Swamps of Culture swell daily, clogging the streets, and clinging to any Citizen that dares move upon them. The outlook is bleak. But deep in the sludge a change is brewing.

The Jocular Emissions Forum has built a uniquely efficient Justice Machine, requiring 3 Expert Panelists, 2 weeks and 1 Court Room. In TRYING JOKES the most serious and dedicated joke-experts of history meet each Joketeller head-on to rid the joke-afflicted populace of every punchline and pun, that they may never be told again.

Bring your Jokes. All of them.

The Trying Jokes courtroom will be in session from 14 – 25 June (not Sunday)
12.30pm – 2.30pm & 5.30pm – 7.30pm
(Viewers are welcome at any time within these hours)
The Old Courthouse, Camden Quay.
