FRED are a five piece from Cork City who take the anguish, angst and pain out of rock'n'roll, opting instead to just be really good. With complete indifference to all things cool FRED write and perform music they really want to hear written and performed. Musically they acknowledge such legends as Sly Stone, Curtis Mayfield, Bill Withers, and The Beach Boys as well as tipping their hat to such contemporaries as Wilco and The Flaming Lips. February 2005 finally saw the release of their follow-up album Making Music So You Don't Have To'. The album has recieved rave reviews, prompting The Village to call it the 'Best Album Of The Year So Far'. A comprehensive national tour saw the band pack out venues night after night, strengthening their reputation as one of the most exciting live bands in Ireland.

Will o' the wisp', Ian Whitty's popularity continues to go from strength to strength. Ian was voted best Cork solo act 2004 by Inside Cork and has recently been performing alongside such established contemporaries as Mundy, Declan O'Rourke, Bell X1 and Glen Hansard.
Until now Ian has been best known as a solo performer but this night will see him launching his new band.
