elephant are a six piece acoustic band based in Cork. Formed in October 2002, the band has played venues throughout Ireland and beyond and their debut album in the moon' was released in April 2004.

The elephant sound has been described as 'unlike anything on the Cork music scene - 4/5' (Evening Echo) and 'miles away from what any of their contemporaries are doing in the currently fertile Cork

scene - 8/10' (whisperinandhollerin.com). Mixing acoustic pop tunes with jazzy undertones and strong melodies, elephant are set apart from anything in the Irish music scene today. Positive reviews of the debut album refer to certain songs as 'superb, heartbreaking pieces of work' and an album that is a 'thoughtful, well-crafted debut from a band who are truly different from the norm'.

As well as playing all the top venues in Cork, elephant have also toured extensively throughout Ireland. At the Dublin Festival Fringe in 2003 elephant made their debut in the Spiegeltent, playing support to Irish Jazz guitar legend Louis Stewart.

With the individual elephants persuing myriad artistic and academic projects, their return to the Spiegeltent offers a rare opportunity to see the band in full swing, in the most glorious, elegant and fitting of venues, and promises to be an intoxicating evening, that'll leave you smiling. Bring your best gal, your handsome man, your dancing shoes, and strike up the band. Roll up, roll up.
