Blow-In

Responses

Welcome to the 9th Cork Midsummer Festival.

Danger Museum and the Cork Midsummer Festival in association with Cork:2005 present:

Blow-In

Blow-In is the culmination of Danger Museum's encounter with Cork's cultural scene and conversations with some of the city's artists, over the past year. The project consists of a collage work that has evolved in response to the conversations and the group's experience as outsiders or "blow ins" to Cork. The project uses the history of Cork as a backdrop for an exploration of the development of Cork´s cultural climate and the role that European Capital of Culture: Cork2005 is playing in further development of this. The work will be shown as a site-specific piece at the Cork Museum, relating to the museum's historical collection, while the conversations are distributed in a free publication around Cork city.

Danger Museum has been in operation since 1998 changing its form and travelling to various destinations over the past six years. It is a mobile, ever evolving, international collective that adapts to each location and situation as required.

Blow-In is curated by Grant Watson.
