The Cork Midsummer Festival is Cork’s only multi-disciplinary arts festival. It provides an annual platform for Cork artists and arts organisations in the fields of theatre, film, music, visual art, community art, literature, dance and family entertainment and provides Cork audiences with the chance to see a broad range of the best of local, national and international art of all kinds.
We celebrate the new and the innovative alongside conventional work. We offer artists an opportunity to experiment with form, style and practice, while remaining true to the tenets of quality and accessibility.
We believe that there is great creative talent within Cork, that there is an openness to new experiences among Cork audiences and that the variety of the city’s arts venues, other buildings and outdoor spaces offers a rich palette for artistic expression.
The 2005 Cork Midsummer Festival took place from June 14 – 25 and featured over 80 theatre, music, dance and children’s performances that ranged from Corcadorca's The Merchant of Venice - the largest streetshow Cork has ever witnessed - to the world premiere of Enda Walsh's Pondlife Angels, from the beauty of The Tallis Scholars in St Fin Barre's to the vibrancy of The Spiegeltent.

What a Day Yesterday!!!
We have always enjoyed the Picnic in the Park, but yesterday was superb. The puppet making, the juggler, the tumbling down circus all the entertainment was great, music and of course the great big Statue game.
My kids had a ball in one of the most magical day Cork city has seen in a long time. Thanks to all who made this happen and to all the entertainers THANK YOU!!! Looking forward to next year already.
