The Tallis Scholars in concert
The world’s leading exponents of Renaissance sacred music appear in Ireland for the first time in over a decade with a concert in Cork’s historic Cathedral.
The Tallis Scholars have played world-wide for over thirty years, including appearances at the Sistine Chapel (to mark the complete restoration of Michelangelo’s frescoes), London’s National Gallery (with Sting and Paul McCartney!), ten tours of the Far East and countless tours of the USA. The group’s recordings have attracted many awards, including GRAMOPHONE magazine’s Record of the Year and Early Music Award, and the Diapason d’Or de l’Année. They were also voted People’s Choice in a joint Classic FM/GRAMOPHONE competition.
This concert will feature the sacred music of Palestrina and Byrd. They will also perform their world famous, and extraordinarily gripping, interpretation of Allegri’s beautiful Miserere.

Les leaders mondiaux de la musique sacrée de la Renaissance font leur apparition en Irlande pour la première fois depuis une décennie, lors d’un un concert à la Cathédrale historique de Cork.
The Tallis Scholars jouent à travers le monde depuis 30 ans, y compris à la Chapelle Sixtine (pour marquer la restauration complète des fresques de Michel-Ange), à la National Gallery de Londres (avec Sting et Paul McCartney !), dix tournées en Extrème-Orient et d’innombrables tournées aux Etats-Unis. Les enregistrements du groupe leur ont rapporté beaucoup de récompenses, y compris celles d’album de l’année et Early Music Award du GRAMOPHONE magazine, et le Diapason d’Or de l’année.
